Former chairman of the Bryan County Board of Commissioners, Bryan County Board of Health and member of the Georgia Farm Bureau, Brooks is involved in farming, turpentine production, logging, commercial cattle, and horse breeding. Eugene is currently the chairman and director of Graftech International as well as a director of Blount, Inc. Formerly the CEO of Union Camp Corporation, Cartledge also served as chairman on the boards of Savannah Foods and Industries, American Paper Institute and the Institute of Paper Science and Technology.
