The Herty Center is a world-class research, development, scale-up, and production facility focusing on high-performance materials critical to the innovation and growth of Georgia high-tech companies and the commercialization of the State’s expansive natural resource base.
The Center offers a range of services, including:
- Fundamental and applied materials research
- Material, product, and process development
- Process engineering and innovation
- Scale-up conceptualization and implementation
- Spot and toll production services
- Cooperative innovation partnerships
Located on a 10-acre campus in Savannah, the Herty Center is a new product and process accelerator – providing technical, market and manufacturing expertise within a unique 120,000 square foot facility.

Our Mission
Conduct research and development in new materials; accelerate the commercialization of newly developed or discovered systems or processes using these materials; produce and manufacture products that serve to enhance the economy of the State of Georgia; and support state-wide efforts in economic development and job creation.
