Herty's extensive experience with forest and paper related products makes us a valuable resource in any developmental work done in this field. Each project is subject to thorough testing including tensile, dry and wet strength tests, fiber length tests to determine the best mixture that produces ideal strength.
Among the numerous paper related projects, Herty has aided in the development of filled paper to improve printability and development of 2-ply paper for packaging as well as filler material for the soles of shoes. Herty also facilitated the investigation of wet processes for recycling carpet backing. In addition, we have performed trials with base paper that is often used for roofing tiles.
