Kadant Black Clawson - Herty Recycling Center
Beginning operation in late 2002, the system consists of a pulper, hydrapurge, selectpurge and various screens and cleaners. The pulper is 8 ft. in diameter and has various rotors enabling the pulping of consistencies up to 18%. The Hydrapurge III is an extractor/detrasher designed to extract the stock from the pulper while at the same time entrapping and concentrating contaminants. The stock is extracted from the pulper tub through a large valve located in the bottom of the pulper tub. Heavy and light contaminants are retained in the body of the hydrapurge while the “accepts” are sent to either the screen or the cleaners. The “rejects from the hydrapurge are sent to the select purge which is a horizontal dewatering drum.
Upon completion of the fiber reclamation process, the pulp can be sent to the client’s facility for further testing or placed on Herty’s rotoformer or fourdrinier for producing the appropriate paper. |
