Perkins Hot Roll / Soft Nip Calender
With the addition of a hot roll, soft nip calender to the 33” fourdrinier machine, Herty moved into the forefront of roll finishing. This 4 roll calender (2 steel and 2 nylon rolls) can be used as a steel-on-steel calender or as a soft nip, hot roll calender for one or two sided, state-of-the-art surface finishing on papers and non-woven materials. In addition, it can be employed as a laminator, and because it can be fed from separate unwind stands, it can service customer-supplied rolls as well as rolls produced on any of the Herty paper machines.
