33" Fourdrinier Machine: Hogenkamp headbox, inline flooded-nip size press, 4 roll calender

33” Fourdrinier Machine

Flexibility and low cost are the primary advantages of this machine.  It can make a 1, 2 or 3-ply sheet.  Operating at 15 – 200 ft/min, it is often used by industry for proof of concept in developing new paper grades, additives, or using lower cost furnish.  As little as ¼ to ½ ton of stock can be economically evaluated; or up to 2 tons of finished paper or board can be produced per day for converting or test marketing.  This unit has a flooded nip size press and calender than can be used for standalone operations with your finished rolls.

For a trial run, as little as 500 lbs of fiber and additives can be used.  The unit’s capabilities are valuable for comparing lower cost materials and fiber types.  It allows for development of new grades where low speed is acceptable for proof of concept as well as the evaluation of some additives, like sizing or pigments suitable at lower speeds.
