Herty Hosts Students for Junior Achievement Job Shadow Day
On February, 4th, 13 students from local high schools came to Herty as a part of the Junior Achievement 2009 Groundhog Shadow Day.
President and CEO, Dr. William Brundage, hosted the students and introduced them to the history and uniqueness of Herty and its commitment to innovation and growth in advanced materials. Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Don McLemore gave them an explorative look into the world of innovation and manufacturing while passing around examples of advanced materials and explaining their application.
A brief Q&A session allowed the students to ask Dr. McLemore questions such as "What is the most rewarding part of your job?" and "What is the most challenging part of your job?"
The students were then taken throughout the building to see the various equipment and capabilities that enable Herty to make its services available to various clientele in the materials industry.
