Pulping

In pulping, Herty’s 65 years of experience have resulted in international recognition. Virtually all fibrous materials have been pulped chemically to produce market pulps, brown grades, fine and specialized papers and composites with other natural and synthetic fibers and fillers. Herty’s versatile pulping systems are designed to assess the effect of different chemistries on a wide range of natural materials under a variety of conditions. The batch equipment is ideal for yield and strength studies, new cooking schedule development, additive evaluation, chip size and quality studies. Supporting the digester systems are wood and fiber preparation systems and a laboratory designed for providing testing services to characterize the materials used and those produced.
  • Digesters – 0.3 cu.ft rotary and 0.78 cu.ft batch
  • Wood chips, Annual Crops, and Other Natural Fibers
  • Additive Pulping
  • Supporting Equipment
  • Fiber And Chip Characterization

Bleaching

In bleaching, Herty’s modern and versatile laboratory bleaching systems allow us to simulate any pressurized or non-pressurized bleaching stage. Our equipment also simulates high and low shear mixing conditions further adding to the flexibility. The bleaching systems are supported by a modern testing laboratory that can analyze the chemicals and byproducts, as well as characterize your bleached and unbleached fiber. In addition, the laboratory can provide testing services, production testing, product testing and product improvement studies.
