In wood, fiber, and pulp evaluation, Herty's laboratory has extensive experience that is recognized throughout the industry. Our wet lab offers a broad range of screening tests to characterize pulp, rejects/ shive content, stickies, recycled, and synthetic fiber sources. Our PFI mill and Valley beaters are calibrated to develop optimum strength. Handsheets are prepared using a range of sheetformers from TAPPI equipment for standard handsheets, 8- inch², or specialized sheet molds. Our staff can utilize your in-house procedures or TAPPI standard methods. Herty's technicians have the experience to perform evaluations of wood, non-wood, agricultural, synthetic fibers, and advanced composites, as well as doing comparative product evaluations, market pulp testing, in-process evaluations, and client quality assurance programs.
